As part of the eligibility criteria for this role, we require candidates to have completed the relevant National Autistic Society (NAS) training modules.
If you have not yet completed these modules, don't worry - we are happy to support you in obtaining them. You will be provided with direct access to the required training materials. The training costs approximately £180 per hour, and successful completion is necessary prior to commencing the role.
Upon completion, you will receive a certificate from the National Autistic Society, which can serve as a valuable addition to your professional profile. This certification is widely recognised and can strengthen your CV when applying for roles that support individuals with Autism, ADHD, and other neurodiverse conditions.

- Develop and implement individualized learning plans for students with SPLDs.
- Provide academic support focusing on organization, time management, and research skills.
- Guide students in developing effective learning strategies to foster independence.
- Collaborate effectively with university staff to create a supportive learning environment.
- Assess student progress and adapt learning plans as needed.
- Utilize online teaching technologies effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and interactions.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of support services for students with SPLDs.
We're looking for you, if:
- You hold a minimum of an undergraduate degree (Level 6).
- You possess proven teaching experience, ideally with students with SPLDs.
- You have a relevant teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent).
- You have completed extensive autism training (NAS modules or Optimum Training - please note that the cost of NAS modules, approximately £180 per hour, is the responsibility of the candidate).
- You demonstrate proven experience supporting autistic students.
- You possess excellent communication and mentoring skills.
- You are proficient in using online teaching technologies.
- You are committed to inclusive education and supporting neurodiverse learners.
