Roles & Responsibilities
The Class Teacher will hold primary responsibility for the following:
Diagnostic Assessment: Implement robust diagnostic assessment strategies at the start of units to inform planning and ensure teaching is precisely targeted.
Differentiation: Systematically plan and implement high-quality differentiated tasks and resources to meet the needs of all learners, from foundation stage entry to greater depth.
Inclusion Team Liaison: Work closely with the SENCo and inclusion team to develop, implement, and review personalised provision plans for pupils with specific needs.
Reporting: Produce clear, comprehensive, and timely reports on pupil progress for statutory requirements and termly parent consultation evenings.
Curriculum Contribution: Contribute actively to the development and resourcing of a subject area across the school (dependent on the successful candidate's strengths).
Staff Mentoring: Provide effective direction and line management to assigned Teaching Assistants, ensuring they are fully briefed on lesson objectives and pupil targets.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will be a highly professional educator who meets:
Certification: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is mandatory (or anticipated for ECTs).
Experience: Proven UK Key Stage 2 teaching experience is highly desirable, demonstrating strong classroom organisation.
Pedagogy: Excellent knowledge of current literacy and numeracy teaching methodologies and curriculum requirements.
Team Ethic: A highly collaborative and flexible approach, keen to participate in shared planning and CPD programmes.
Compliance: Must possess a current Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service.
