We're seeking passionate individuals to join our team and support the growth and development of primary students. This flexible position offers a variety of responsibilities, from general tasks like monitoring attendance, facilitating reading and writing sessions with small groups, and overseeing break times, to providing focused support for students with additional needs or offering one-on-one guidance. Your assignments will be tailored to your preferences and experience, ensuring a fulfilling and rewarding role in education. This opportunity starts in February 2026.
Your Responsibilities as a Teaching Assistant:
Collaborate with children individually or in small groups to enhance their learning.
Serve as a positive role model for both students and colleagues.
Foster positive relationships with children and their families.
Collaborate with fellow staff members, including specialists.
Assist the class teacher in resource preparation and activity setup.
Help prepare a lesson and tidy the classroom afterwards
Provide assistance with lesson plans
Support children across the curriculum
Give extra support to children with special needs
Help mark work
Report student progress
Help look after the children during school trips and activities
Look after children that are unwell
Attend meetings
Confidence in guiding individuals or small groups.
A positive attitude and effective communication skills.
Essential requirements:
Experience working with young people
Class management skills
Comfortable managing challenging behaviour
Able to engage with and motivate children
TA Qualified
