Roles & Responsibilities
As a key member of the support staff, you will be instrumental in the smooth running of the classroom. Your responsibilities will include:
Learning Support: Working alongside the class teacher to facilitate learning activities and ensure students understand tasks.
Small Group Work: Leading intervention sessions for literacy and numeracy to support lower-ability groups or challenge higher achievers.
SEN Support: Providing dedicated 1:1 assistance to pupils with Special Educational Needs, ensuring their care plans are followed.
Resource Preparation: Assisting with the creation of classroom displays and learning materials to create a stimulating environment.
Supervision: ensuring pupil safety during break times and supporting social interactions.
Requirements
The school is looking for a candidate who meets the following criteria:
Qualifications: Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desired.
Experience: Prior experience working in a primary school or early years setting is essential.
Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to build professional relationships with children and adults.
Attitude: A proactive, flexible approach and a genuine passion for education.
Vetting: You must hold an Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to undergo the necessary checks.
