We are looking for dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistants (TAs) to provide essential academic and pastoral support in our secondary schools across the Prescot area. This is a highly rewarding role where you'll directly impact student's learning and development every day.
Pay Rate: £13.68 - £14.00 per hour

You will work within the Metropolitan Borough of Knowsley, serving schools primarily in the Prescot area.
- Areas Covered: Prescot, Knowsley, Whiston, and Rainhill.
- Postcodes: L34 and L35.
Key Duties:
Working under the direct instruction of the class teacher, you will support student's access to learning and provide general classroom assistance.
- Student Support (One-to-One/Small Group): Work with individual pupils or small groups to reinforce lessons, help them complete tasks, and explain concepts in different ways. This often includes supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
- Pastoral Care: Support the social and emotional development of pupils, encouraging positive behaviour, and looking after children who are upset or have had accidents.
- Classroom Preparation: Assist the teacher by preparing the classroom for lessons, creating learning resources, and tidying up after ward.
- Administrative Tasks: Carry out duties like displaying student work, assisting with record-keeping, monitoring progress, and occasionally helping with planning for individual pupils.
- Supervision: Assist with the supervision of pupils out of lesson times, such as before/after school, lunchtimes, and during school trips.
- Safeguarding: Be aware of and comply with all policies and procedures relating to child protection, confidentiality, and data protection.
Skills & Qualities You'll Need:
- Patience and Empathy: Essential for working with students, particularly those who may be struggling academically or emotionally.
- Teamwork and Collaboration: The ability to work closely and effectively with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals.
- Communication Skills: Strong active listening and clear communication to build rapport with both pupils and adults.
- Flexibility and Initiative: Able to adapt quickly to varying tasks and subjects, and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Literacy and Numeracy: Good skills are often required.
- Experience: Prior experience working with children or young people is highly beneficial.
