We have a temporary Warehouse Operative position available at TATA Steel's Llanwern Works, perfect for someone with strong manual handling skills who is adaptable, a good communicator, and safety-conscious.
Position: Warehouse Operative
Location: TATA Steel, Llanwern Works, Newport NP19 4QZ
Pay: £12.21/hour (basic), with a 25% shift allowance (£15.26/hour). Overtime available at 1.5x (£18.32/hour)
Contract: 6 months initially
Shift Pattern: 12-hour shifts on a 6-week rotating schedule, averaging 37.5 hours per week. Shifts cover days, nights, and weekends, so flexibility is essential. Each 12-hour shift includes two unpaid 30-minute breaks.
Key Responsibilities:
Dispatching materials according to client requests
Handling goods on both inbound and outbound shipments
Upholding Health and Safety standards and encouraging others to do the same General housekeeping duties, such as stock takes, quality checks, and reporting damages
Operating machinery (training provided)
Essential Requirements:
Previous experience in a warehouse or production environment
Team player with strong verbal and written communication skills Computer literate
Solid understanding of UK Health and Safety regulations
Capable of manual handling, including lifting bulky items and standing for long periods
Desirable:
Full driving license with access to a car
Knowledge of the steel industry
