Randstad UK is seeking experienced, dedicated, and passionate Academic Mentors to join our team in Wrexham and the surrounding areas. As an Academic Mentor, your primary mission is to build students' academic confidence, motivate them to continue their educational journey, and foster overall success.
You will provide high-quality, tailored tuition sessions to students across various year groups, ranging from Year 1 to Post-16, in Maths, English, and/or Science.
Key Responsibilities- Motivation & Confidence: Foster a positive and supportive learning environment specifically designed to build students' confidence and self-esteem.
- Educational Success: Work to build students' academic confidence and social skills to encourage them to stay engaged with their education.
- Curriculum Delivery: Deliver tuition sessions in Maths, English, and/or Science following the current UK national curriculum.
- Tailored Support: Develop and implement individualised lesson plans that cater to each student's unique learning needs.
- Mentorship: Form long-term, meaningful relationships with students, offering consistent support and encouragement throughout their academic journey.
- Communication: Maintain ongoing communication with students and their families regarding progress and areas for further development.
- Proven Experience: Demonstrated experience in delivering tuition in Maths, English, and/or Science.
- Curriculum Knowledge: Strong understanding of the current UK national curriculum.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build strong, positive relationships with students.
- Inclusivity: Experience working with students with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) and adjusting approaches to ensure accessibility.
- Compliance: A DBS check on the Update Service, or a willingness to apply for one before employment commences.
