Are you a meticulous and motivated individual with a knack for numbers? We're looking for an Accounts Payable Analyst to join our finance and accounting department in Peterlee. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in processing and tracking supplier invoices and payments, contributing to the smooth financial operations of our company.
Role OverviewAs an Accounts Payable Analyst, you'll be instrumental in managing our supplier accounts. Your responsibilities will include:
- Processing purchase invoices and credits onto the Accounts Payable Ledger using established methods and procedures.
- Performing supplier statement reconciliations and resolving any discrepancies.
- Actively participating in projects aimed at streamlining our Payable processes.
- Ensuring the correct treatment of VAT where applicable.
- Handling invoice queries from both internal and external stakeholders.
- Liaising with suppliers via telephone and email to maintain strong working relationships.
- Communicating with other internal departments in person, via telephone, and email.
- Identifying and assigning issues to their causal areas for effective resolution.
- Supporting and assisting the Accounts Payable Supervisor with various tasks.
- Performing general clerical duties as needed.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications You'll Have
To thrive in this role, you'll need to demonstrate:
- Previous finance experience, ideally within Accounts Payable.
- 5 GCSEs at grades A-C or equivalent.
- Excellent communication skills at all levels, both in person and remotely.
- A keen, flexible, and 'can do' attitude.
- High motivation and a proactive approach to your work.
- The ability to be a strong team player who also works well independently.
- Proven ability to work to deadlines and prioritize your workload effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Essential keyboard numeracy and data entry skills.
- Proficiency in Excel (basic formulas, pivot tables, lookups).
- The ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
- Solid analytical skills to identify and resolve issues.
While not essential, experience with any of the following would be a significant advantage:
- SAP
- PEGI
- SIA
- Power BI
- COUPA
