About the Role:
As a Social Worker in our Adults Safeguarding Team, you will play a vital role in protecting vulnerable adults and promoting their independence and safety. Your responsibilities will include:
Conducting safeguarding enquiries: You will lead Section 42 enquiries under the Care Act 2014, assessing concerns and taking appropriate actions to ensure safety and well-being.
Undertaking assessments: You will complete Care Act assessments and mental capacity assessments, working with individuals to understand their needs and outcomes.
Working in partnership: Collaborate with health services, police, advocacy services, and other partners to ensure a coordinated response to safeguarding issues.
Developing support plans: Create person-centred care and support plans that promote choice, control, and independence.
Promoting best practices: Ensure all safeguarding work is in line with statutory duties, council policies, and national guidance.
Maintaining accurate records: Keep clear, concise, and up-to-date case notes and documentation for all safeguarding activities.
Championing the rights of adults: Advocate for adults at risk, ensuring their voices are heard and respected in all aspects of their care.
Who we're looking for:
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Social Worker with a strong understanding of adult safeguarding legislation and the needs of vulnerable adults.
You will have:
A recognised social work qualification (e.g., DipSW, CQSW, BSc Social Work)
Registration with Social Work England
Experience in adult safeguarding, including undertaking S42 enquiries
A strong understanding of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, and related legislation
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Experience in working collaboratively with multi-agency partners
A commitment to promoting independence, choice, and well-being in adults at risk
