Nottingham City Council is seeking an experienced and dedicated Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) to join our Emergency Duty Team on a locum basis. This is a critical role for those who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are skilled in providing immediate, high-quality interventions during mental health crises.
Job Title: Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) - Emergency Duty Team
Location: Nottingham City Council
Pay Rate: £38 per hour
Key Responsibilities
Conducting statutory assessments under the Mental Health Act 1983 (MHA).
Making informed and defensible decisions regarding compulsory admission to hospital.
Coordinating multi-disciplinary assessments with psychiatrists, police, and other agencies.
Providing expert advice and consultation on MHA matters to professionals.
Responding to out-of-hours crisis situations for both adults and children.
Maintaining accurate and timely records in line with statutory and departmental procedures.
