Randstad has an opportunity available for an Art Technician (Ceramics & 3D Specialism) to join the team at Belfast Metropolitan College. The ideal candidate will provide an efficient, effective and safe technical service to students and lecturers to support education and training. You will enhance classroom practice and learning activities by ensuring that facilities, equipment and materials are prepared to the highest standards in advance of curriculum delivery.

Requirements
Hold a minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Art with a significant component of Ceramics/3D or a related discipline plus at least one year's recent experience working in a technical support role in the area of Ceramics/3D Art OR have at least three years' recent experience working in a technical support role in the area of Ceramics/3D Art
Strong understanding of health and safety protocols within a workshop or studio environment
Ability to maintain and prepare specialist equipment and materials for 3D art production
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to support multiple lecturers and students simultaneously
Candidates will be subject to enhanced vetting / compliance checks including an Enhanced Access NI check due to the nature of this work, this may include a Barred List check for both Children & Vulnerable Adults (depending on the role).
Responsibilities
Provide technical support and guidance to students and lecturers within the Ceramics and 3D Art curriculum areas
Prepare materials, tools and equipment for practical demonstrations and student projects
Maintain studio facilities and machinery to ensure a safe working environment in line with college policy
Assist with the firing of kilns and the preparation of glazes or other specialized 3D materials
Monitor stock levels and assist in the ordering of consumables and equipment
Support the installation and display of student work for exhibitions and assessments
Ensure all technical areas are kept clean, tidy and compliant with health and safety regulations
