This includes the visually and hearing impaired and individuals with dyslexia, AD(H)D,
Asperger's, autism, dyscalculia, dysgraphia and dyspraxia. The role will be a combination
of remote and onsite training.
Full UK Drivers License preferred
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establish each individual's specific requirements and create a bespoke tailored training plan.
- Adapt teaching styles to provide training in a manner to meet the unique needs of each individual.
- Provide training on a range of assistive technology to each individual on how to use their assistive technology according to their requirements.
- Deliver training in-line with our guidelines and code of conduct to ensure training is delivered effectively.
- Update student files to support their unique training plan; managing training paperwork effectively, accurately and promptly.
- Attend any relevant training to develop existing skills whilst adding to your continual professional development.
- Punctuality with a flexible approach to working hours is required.
Skills and Quality:
- Proven experience in teaching or training assistive technologies or a similar role.
- Proven experience of working with disabled people or people with specific learning differences.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Excellent organisational skills and knowledge of MS Office and office software.
- Experience of a logical approach to problem-solving and paying close attention to detail.
- Ability to learn new assistive software and hardware as required.
Desirable:
- Experience of supporting students in further or higher education with disabilities
