Our service focuses on empowering individuals to live independently while receiving the care and support they need to thrive.
Job Description: We are looking for compassionate and experienced Support Workers with specific expertise in supporting individuals with autism. In this role, you will be responsible for providing person-centered care and support to adults with a range of complex needs, including LD, MH conditions, and autism. The role may involve sleepovers as part of the support package.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing tailored support to individuals with LD, MH conditions, and autism.
- Promoting independence and autonomy through person-centered approaches.
- Assisting with daily living activities, including personal care and household tasks.
- Implementing individual care plans and behaviours support strategies.
- Supporting individuals to access community resources and engage in social activities.
- Monitoring and documenting progress, concerns, and incidents.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies as needed.
- Participating in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with individuals with autism and other complex needs.
- Understanding of autism spectrum disorders and knowledge of best practices in support.
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and sleepovers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate and patient approach to supporting individuals with diverse needs.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (preferred but not essential).
- A commitment to promoting the rights and dignity of individuals with disabilities.
