Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear (CNTW) NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated and experienced Band 6 Crisis Nurse to join our dynamic team at Carleton Clinic in Carlisle. About the Role:
As a Crisis Nurse, you will be instrumental in providing immediate assessment, intervention, and support to individuals in their most vulnerable moments. Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, you will ensure comprehensive and compassionate care, often involving rapid assessment, de-escalation techniques, and the development of safe discharge or referral plans. This challenging yet immensely fulfilling role demands excellent communication, a calm and empathetic approach, and the ability to make sound clinical decisions under pressure.
Key Requirements:
- Experience: A minimum of 6 months' post-registration experience within the NHS is essential. Experience specifically in crisis intervention work within mental health settings is highly desirable.
- Professional Registration: Valid UK NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) PIN.
- DBS: Current enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
- Immunisations: Up-to-date immunization records.
- Skills: Proven ability to assess and manage risk, strong de-escalation skills, excellent report-writing, and IT proficiency. Knowledge of the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act is crucial.
- Team Player: Ability to work autonomously while also being a strong team player within a multi-professional setting.
