Position: Full-Time, Long-Term (Term Time Only)
Salary: £90 - £95 per day (Weekly Pay - dependent on experience)
Start Date: Immediate / Next Term
Are you a resilient, empathetic professional who believes that "behaviour is communication"? Join our specialist network as a Behavioural Support Assistant and work with students who need a steady, compassionate mentor to help them navigate their education.
Transform Lives through Connection, Not Just CorrectionWe are seeking dedicated specialists to work within SEND Schools and Pupil Referral Units (PRUs). This role is designed for those who want to support students with complex SEMH needs, Autism, or ADHD, helping them manage their emotions and find success in a way that works for them.
- Therapeutic Focus: Move beyond traditional discipline. Use trauma-informed approaches to help students understand their feelings and self-regulate.
- Specialist Environment: Work in small class sizes with high staff-to-pupil ratios, allowing you to build deep, meaningful bonds with the students you support.
- Career Progression: Exceptional experience for those looking to move into Counselling, SEN Teaching, or Behavioural Therapy.
- Weekly Pay: Competitive daily rates of £90 - £95 per day, paid every Friday via Randstad.
As a Behavioural Support Assistant in an SEND setting, you are the "anchor" for students who may find the world an overwhelming or frustrating place.
- De-escalation & Crisis Support: Use specialist training (such as Team-Teach or MAPA) to safely manage challenging moments and help students return to a state of "calm."
- Personalised Mentoring: Work 1:1 to implement Individual Behaviour Plans (IBPs), using sensory breaks and positive reinforcement to build confidence.
- Social & Life Skills: Help students develop the tools they need to communicate their needs effectively, reducing the need for "acting out" through frustration.
- Holistic Tracking: Work closely with Therapists, SENCOs, and families to ensure a 360-degree approach to the student's well-being and progress.
We value character, emotional intelligence, and "staying power." You are an ideal fit if you:
- Are Unflappable: You have a calm, non-confrontational manner and can maintain your composure during high-stress situations.
- Are Empathetic: You can look past the "challenging behaviour" to see the child underneath, understanding the trauma or neurodiversity that may be driving their actions.
- Have Relevant Experience: Experience in SEND, youth work, residential care, or a background in Psychology is highly desirable.
- Are Committed: You hold an enhanced DBS on the update service (or are willing to apply) and are 100% dedicated to Safeguarding.
