The Role: What You'll Be Doing
As a Child Protection Social Worker, you will be a key player in safeguarding children in the Middlesbrough community. Your work will be underpinned by our Signs of Safety practice model and a commitment to trauma-informed, relationship-based practice.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Statutory Assessments: Conducting Initial Assessments (Section 17) and Child Protection Enquiries (Section 47) to identify needs, risks, and determine appropriate thresholds for intervention.
Care Planning: Developing and implementing clear, person-centred Care Plans in partnership with children, families, and multi-agency partners.
Direct Work: Engaging in meaningful direct work with children and young people to understand their wishes, feelings, and help them achieve stability and permanence.
Multi-Agency Collaboration: Working closely with partners from health, education, police, and the voluntary sector to coordinate support and protection for children.
Court Work: Preparing comprehensive reports and attending statutory meetings, including Child Protection Conferences and court hearings, to represent the child's best interests.
Case Management: Managing a varied caseload with a strong focus on high-quality, timely recording and adherence to professional standards.
Qualifications and requirements :
- Social work qualification
- Registered with SWE
- Full Driving License
