The Role:
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Classroom Support Assistants to join our team and work in vibrant primary schools across Leeds. In this rewarding role, you will be instrumental in creating a positive and effective learning environment. You will work closely with class teachers to support pupils, ensuring they can access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Providing tailored 1:1 and small group support to students, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Assisting the teacher with the delivery of engaging lessons and helping to prepare classroom resources and learning materials.
Fostering an inclusive classroom environment and promoting positive behaviour through effective management techniques.
Supporting students with their social and emotional development, including those with SEMH needs or requiring sensory support.
Adapting learning materials to suit the needs of individual children and assisting with assessments.
Collaborating effectively with teachers, SENCos, and other professionals to support student progress and contribute to individual education plans (IEPs/EHCPs).
About You:
Previous experience working with primary-aged children in an educational setting is highly desirable.
Qualifications such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant certificate are advantageous.
A genuine passion for education and a commitment to helping all students succeed.
Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
A calm, patient, and resilient demeanour, with the ability to manage challenging situations effectively.
An enhanced DBS check on the Update Service or a willingness to apply for a new one is essential.
