About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will step into the classroom in the absence of the teacher, ensuring continuity in learning and upholding school expectations. You'll supervise a variety of subjects across KS3 and KS4 using pre-set work. This is an ideal role for those considering teaching as a career, or anyone with experience working with young people who is looking to work in education full-time.
You will become a core part of the school, a large and inclusive secondary school in Sheffield. Requirements:
... - Experience working with secondary-aged children or young people.
- A desire to work in education or support the learning of young people.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
Responsibilities
- Supervising whole classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff.
- Delivering pre-set work across various subjects.
- Ensuring pupils remain on task and behave following school policies.
- Promoting a calm and productive learning environment.
- Liaising with teaching staff regarding student progress.
- Covering a range of year groups, mostly KS3 and KS4.
- Ensuring that completed work is collected and returned to the teacher.
- Reporting any issues or incidents to the relevant pastoral or academic staff.
- Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Promoting inclusion and equality within the classroom.
