About the Role
Randstad Education is seeking a dedicated and professional Cover Supervisor to join a vibrant and supportive secondary school in Wakefield. This is a full-time, long-term position starting as soon as possible. As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing the classroom and ensuring students remain on task with the work set by the absent teacher. Essential Requirements
- Previous experience working with young people (desirable but not essential).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Enhanced Child DBS on the updated service (Willingness to apply for one)

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise students in the classroom, ensuring they are engaged and on task.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively and in line with the school's policy.
- Deliver pre-prepared work to a high standard, clarifying instructions where necessary.
- Respond to student questions and provide support where possible.
- Report any issues or concerns to the relevant member of staff.
- Maintain a safe and productive learning environment.
- Ensure the classroom is left in a tidy and organised state.
- Build positive relationships with students and staff.
- Adhere to all school policies and procedures.
- Promote the school's values and ethos.
