The Opportunity
We are currently partnering with a highly-regarded secondary school in the St Neots area to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Qualified Teacher of Design Technology (DT).
This is a critical, full-time, long-term temporary position starting in January 2026, initially running through the Easter half term with a strong possibility of extension. For the right candidate, there is also potential for this role to transition into a permanent contract.
Key Requirements & Specialism
We are specifically seeking candidates who meet the following criteria:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
- Proven experience teaching Design Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- A strong specialism and practical expertise in Product Design.
- Crucially, recent experience delivering the curriculum for GCSE Construction is required.
- The ability to manage and maintain workshop equipment safely.
Role Responsibilities
The successful candidate will take on full teaching responsibilities, integrating completely into the school department. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Planning and preparing engaging lessons for all assigned classes.
- Delivering high-quality, inspiring DT and Construction lessons.
- Setting and marking classwork, homework, and assessments.
- Monitoring student progress and providing constructive feedback.
- Attending staff and department meetings.
- Participating in school events, such as Parents' Evenings.
