Salary: £150 - £220 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Your Duties
- Deliver Practical Lessons: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and hands-on Food Technology lessons for students from Key Stage 3 to GCSE.
- Teach Core Skills: Instruct students on a wide range of food preparation techniques, nutrition principles, and food safety standards.
- Assess and Guide: Monitor student progress through practical assessments and coursework, providing clear and constructive feedback to help them achieve their best.
- Manage Resources: Oversee the management of the food technology classroom, including equipment maintenance, stock control, and ensuring a safe and hygienic working environment.
- Curriculum Innovation: Collaborate with the Head of Department to develop a dynamic and exciting curriculum that reflects modern culinary trends and nutritional science.
- Pastoral Care: Contribute to the pastoral life of the school, acting as a form tutor and supporting student's personal and academic development.
Skills & Qualifications
- A degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Culinary Arts, or a related field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Proven experience teaching Food Technology at a secondary school level.
- Excellent knowledge of food preparation, nutrition, and health and safety regulations.
- Strong practical skills and the ability to inspire a love of cooking and healthy eating.
- Excellent classroom management and a commitment to creating a positive and safe learning environment.
