Pay Rate: £13.96 - £15.75 per hour
Contract: 12 months rolling
Hours: 37 hours per week
Mon-Thu: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
Fri: 8:00 am - 1:00 pm
What You Will Do
As an Engine Test Technician, you will be the hands-on link between engineering concepts and real-world durability. You will work directly with engine components and test rigs to validate performance for future green energy solutions.
Assist engineers in conducting technical investigations and operating test equipment to obtain and analyse critical data.
Lay strain gauges, solder electronic components, and set up instrumentation for data capture.
Record evaluation results using various software and tools, creating curves, charts, and sketches for technical reports.
Maintain a clean, safe work area (5S/TPM) and strictly adhere to safe working practices.
Work closely with the lab team, following standard procedures while using hand tools, power tools, and lifting equipment
We are looking for someone who balances technical "know-how" with a proactive, "can-do" attitude.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
Level 3 in mechanical engineering or motor mechanics apprenticeship or equivalent experience
Proven experience with hand tools, soldering and electronic components
Experience in a garage shop floor or a test house environment.
High level of precision and the ability to follow complex written and verbal instructions.
Ability to use power tools and lifting equipment safely.
