We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Resource Scheduler to join our team in Sheffield. In this role, you'll be responsible for planning and allocating work to a team of multiskilled field engineers, ensuring effective service delivery for both installation (provision) and repair tasks. You'll play a vital role in making sure engineers are where they need to be, when they need to be there - resolving customer escalations, improving processes, and helping the business run smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and allocate field engineer jobs from 5 days in advance right through to same-day scheduling
Monitor and optimise field resource deployment using scheduling systems
Ensure maximum utilisation and efficiency of field staff
Collaborate with engineers, control managers, and central resourcing teams to resolve issues and maintain service levels
Handle customer escalations and urgent job requests professionally and in a timely manner
Build job tasks manually when required (e.g. Cloud Voice tasks where automation isn't in place)
Identify and flag risks in resourcing or allocation to the relevant stakeholders
Manage incidents and service routines within your assigned area
Support continuous improvement of scheduling and control processes
Contribute to the overall customer experience by ensuring timely delivery and repairs
Skills & Experience:
Previous experience in scheduling, resource planning, or workforce coordination
Strong problem-solving and communication skills (both written and verbal)
Comfortable using workforce allocation and planning systems
Able to work well under pressure and manage changing priorities
Team-oriented, with a collaborative approach to working across departments
