The role :
A high-achieving, inclusive Secondary School with a strong academic ethos is looking for a committed and enthusiastic English Teacher to join their thriving and successful department. This school is dedicated to a traditional approach to teaching, behaviour, and culture, drawing on principles from cognitive science, Rosenshine, and Teach Like A Champion.
This is a full-time, permanent position that offers the chance to collaborate with a team of experienced, reflective, and passionate subject specialists who are dedicated to outstanding outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach English across the full ability range in Years 7-11.
- Deliver engaging, knowledge-rich lessons that explicitly inspire a deep love and understanding of literature and language.
- Uphold and maintain high standards of behaviour and discipline, fostering a focused, respectful, and productive learning environment.
- Actively contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives, sharing best practice with colleagues.
- Assess and monitor student progress, ensuring high expectations are maintained for every learner.
