This is a fantastic 6-month rolling contract opportunity offering a day rate of £400 (outside IR35). The role is based in St Albans and offers hybrid working, with 3 days required in the office and 2 days working from home.
The Opportunity:
As an Estimator, you will be a vital part of our rail bids team. Your expertise will be crucial in preparing accurate and competitive tenders for complex civils projects within the rail sector. You will be responsible for:
Tender Preparation: Producing precise and timely estimates for a variety of rail civils schemes.
Bid Submissions: Creating and submitting compelling quotations, bids, and tenders to help us win new work.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Working closely with the bid team, engineers, and supply chain to ensure all technical and commercial requirements are met.
Cost Analysis: Analyzing project plans and specifications to identify all necessary resources, materials, and labor.
What We're Looking For:
The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated individual with a keen eye for detail and a passion for the rail industry.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of proven experience as an Estimator on rail civils projects.
Software Skills: Hands-on experience with estimating software packages like Candy.
Qualifications: A HNC or equivalent qualification is preferred, but not essential if you can demonstrate a strong track record.
Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical abilities, and a collaborative mindset.
