About the role
We are seeking a dedicated and flexible General Cover Teacher to join our full-time team in Wakefield, starting this September. This is a chance to play a vital role in the continued success of our secondary school and is proud to be part of a well-regarded multi-academy trust. You will be responsible for delivering pre-prepared lessons across a broad range of subjects and Key Stages 3 and 4, ensuring that students continue to make progress while their usual teacher is absent.

Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Proven experience working with students aged 11-16.
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
- Eligibility to work in the UK.

Responsibilities:
- Deliver pre-prepared lessons across a variety of subjects and year groups (Key Stage 3 and 4).
- Maintain a positive and focused classroom environment.
- Follow the school's behaviour and safeguarding policies.
- Ensure all students are engaged and on-task throughout the lesson.
- Apply strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Accompany teaching staff and students on visits, trips, and other out-of-school activities.
- Actively promote and support the ethos and vision of the school.
- Participate in meetings as required to meet the needs of the school.
- Be a positive role model for students.
- Contribute to a high-quality teaching and learning environment.
