An exciting opportunity is available for a proactive General Cover Teacher to join our partner Secondary School in St Neots. We are seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to provide essential cover for absent teachers, ensuring continuity of learning across the school. This is a chance to make a significant and positive impact on the daily lives of students and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise classes across a range of subjects in the absence of the regular teacher.
- Deliver pre-prepared work and ensure students are on task and engaged.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively, following the school's policies and procedures.
- Help create a positive and productive learning environment for all students.
- Build positive relationships with students and staff.
- Report back to the Head of Department or relevant staff on student progress and any issues that arise.
Requirements
- Experience working with young people, ideally in a school setting.
- A strong classroom presence and the ability to manage student behaviour.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility and a can-do attitude.
- A Child DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
