We are seeking Qualified Teachers (QTS) for general supply roles across secondary schools in the Prescot area. Enjoy the rewards of teaching with the freedom to control your own schedule.
Daily Rate: £150 - £220 per day (Negotiable based on experience, placement type, and subject specialisation).
Location & Postcodes:
You will be placed on assignments within the Metropolitan Borough of Knowsley area, serving schools in:
- Areas: Prescot, Knowsley, Whiston, and Rainhill.
- Postcodes: L34 and L35.
Your Role:
As a supply teacher, you step in to cover planned and unplanned teacher absences, ensuring high-quality education and continuity for pupils. Your responsibilities will vary but generally include:
- Planning and Teaching: Delivering engaging and well-structured lessons across various subjects and year groups, following plans left by the permanent teacher or, in longer-term roles, providing your own.
- Classroom Management: Maintaining good order and discipline in line with the school's behaviour policy to ensure a safe and purposeful learning environment.
- Assessment & Feedback: Marking student's work, providing appropriate, constructive feedback (both orally and written), and recording progress in line with school policy.
- Pastoral Duties: Carrying out the duties of the regular teacher, such as taking class registers, covering form classes, and promoting the well-being of all pupils.
- Safeguarding: Remaining vigilant to ensure all students are protected from harm by following safeguarding policies and protocols.
Essential Requirements & Skills:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): You must hold QTS or be an Early Career Teacher (ECT).
- Adaptability & Resilience: The ability to think on your feet and quickly adjust your teaching and behaviour management strategies in an unfamiliar classroom.
- Strong Subject Knowledge: A solid understanding of the relevant subject(s) and curriculum to deliver lessons confidently.
- Professional Conduct: High standards of behaviour, punctuality, and a commitment to ensuring every child has the opportunity to reach their potential.
- Vetting: A valid Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) is required for all school work.
