In this role, you'll be expected to deliver engaging Geography lessons across KS3 and KS4, focusing on a range of topics from climate change to global development. You'll introduce map skills, spatial analysis, and case studies that foster critical thinking and curiosity.
The role includes lesson planning, differentiation, and regular assessment to support pupil progress. You'll work closely with colleagues in the Humanities department and be involved in extracurricular initiatives such as geography clubs or fieldwork opportunities.
Key Duties:
- Deliver well-structured and stimulating Geography lessons across KS3 and KS4.
- Plan creative and differentiated lesson content.
- Mark and assess work in line with school policy and provide feedback.
- Maintain excellent behaviour for learning in the classroom.
- Liaise with colleagues, attend department meetings, and share best practice.
- Support whole-school events and contribute to enrichment activities.
- Use assessments to inform planning and track pupil progress.
Skills and Qualifications:
- UK QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching secondary Geography (PGCE students welcome).
- DBS on update service or willingness to obtain one.
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Passion for geographical education and enrichment.
- Knowledge of current curriculum requirements and assessments.
