About the Role:As a groundworker focusing on kerb laying, you'll be crucial to the development of pathways, roads, and public spaces on our large-scale civil engineering project in Newcastle. Your expertise will ensure high-quality and durable finishes. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Accurately setting out and laying kerbs to required specifications and levels.
- Preparing ground surfaces for kerbing, including digging, levelling, and compacting.
- Working with various types of kerbs (e.g., concrete, stone) and edgings.
- Operating relevant hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Collaborating effectively with other groundworkers, plant operators, and site management.
- Adhering strictly to all site health and safety regulations and quality standards.
- Assisting with other general groundworks tasks as needed to support the project.
We need a candidate who possesses:
- Proven experience as a groundworker with a strong focus and demonstrable skill in kerb laying.
- Experience on civil engineering or large infrastructure projects is highly beneficial.
- A valid CSCS card is essential for this role.
- Ability to read and interpret basic drawings and levels.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic are paramount.
- A proactive approach to safety and site productivity.
