Randstad Education has a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and ambitious Head of Science to join a thriving secondary school. The successful candidate will be responsible for fostering a love for science, managing a team of passionate teachers, and ensuring every student is challenged to achieve their full potential.
This is a permanent position and you will be required to support five days a week Monday - Friday inline with school hours.

Responsibilities:
... - Lead and manage the Science department, including staff performance, curriculum, and strategy.
- Drive standards of teaching and learning and be accountable for student attainment and progress.
- Manage the departmental budget, resources, and laboratory facilities.
- Oversee and develop the extra-curricular science and STEM programme.
- Ensure departmental compliance with all safeguarding and health & safety policies.
Preferred Skills:
- A relevant degree in Science and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Significant experience as a secondary Science Teacher.
- Proven leadership experience (e.g., Second in Department, Key Stage Lead).
- A strong track record of improving student attainment and exam results (GCSE/A-Level).
- Experience in curriculum design, strategic planning, and implementation.
- Skill in managing a departmental budget and leading enrichment activities.
