Randstad Education is collaborating with forward-thinking schools across Essex to recruit passionate and committed History teachers to join our secondary schools. This is a full time position starting this September around the schools in Benfleet.
Our secondary schools are nourished by a curriculum rich in history and a strong dedication to academic success. Students are taught to think critically about the past and comprehend how it affects the present and future in the environment that our schools foster. Role & Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver high-quality history lessons that engage and challenge students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach A-level history.
- Create opportunities for students to analyse primary and secondary sources, develop historical interpretations, and communicate their findings effectively.
- Play a major part in creating the history curriculum by using state-of-the-art materials and creative teaching strategies.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall educational experience and contribute to school-wide initiatives.

Requirements:
- QTS (Qualified teaching status) is essential.
- An up to date enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check or the willingness to obtain one.
- Eligibility to work in the UK is essential.
- Excellent subject knowledge and a genuine passion for history curriculum.
- Work collaboratively with the history department and other staff to enrich the history curriculum and integrate interdisciplinary approaches.
- A commitment to continuous professional growth and contributing to the broader life of the school.
- Lead and participate in extracurricular activities, such as history clubs, educational trips, and special history-related events, to enhance students' learning.
