📝 Roles & Responsibilities
As a key member of the IRS Assessment Team, your duties will focus on the professional evaluation of complex needs and the allocation of critical resources.
Complex Needs Assessment: Undertake comprehensive, high-quality assessments of vulnerable children, young people, and families referred for IRS services.
Risk Evaluation: Critically evaluate and analyse information to identify risks and protective factors, informing appropriate care and resource planning.
Resource Allocation: Determine and effectively match assessed needs with available resources and interventions managed by the Integrated Resources Service.
Care Planning: Contribute to the development of robust, outcome-focused support and care plans, ensuring statutory compliance.
Multi-Agency Liaison: Collaborate closely with health professionals, education providers, police, and other internal and external stakeholders to gather a holistic view and coordinate seamless service delivery.
Statutory Compliance: Ensure all assessment and planning activities adhere strictly to Children Act legislation, statutory guidance, and Newcastle Council policies.
Documentation: Maintain accurate, concise, and timely electronic records on the case management system.
✅ Key Requirements (Essential)
Qualified Social Worker: You must hold a recognised professional Social Work qualification (e.g., Degree, MA, DipSW).
Registration: Current and valid registration with Social Work England is absolutely essential.
DBS: Must possess an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, ideally registered with the Update Service.
Experience: Demonstrable experience in frontline children's social work, specifically in assessment and resource allocation.
