Are you a dynamic and experienced leader ready to take on the exciting challenge of an interim Principal role at a start-up academy? We is seeking a highly skilled individual to lead our new school from as soon as possible through to July 2026.
This is a full-time, interim position where you will be accountable for the leadership, internal organisation, management, and control of the Academy.
The Role: Leading a Start-Up Academy
We are looking for an exceptional leader who possesses strong experience in leading challenging schools and can demonstrate strong leadership and behaviour management skills.
The ideal candidate will:
Lead and inspire staff by example, encouraging the highest personal and professional standards.
Ensure high standards of behaviour and attendance, developing and applying a constructive policy when exclusion needs to be considered.
Possess an ability to manage and empower others to maintain high standards of student discipline to ensure a positive climate for learning.
Have a proven track record of effective headship or senior leadership in an urban primary or secondary school, ideally graded as good or outstanding by Ofsted.
Be emotionally resilient, patient, and persevering with challenging behaviours and attitudes.
Ensure that the Oasis ethos and the 9 Habits permeate every aspect of the Academy's life.
Implement a rigorous assessment strategy to monitor and report students' learning and progress through the Oasis Accountability Framework.
Candidate Requirements
The successful candidate will ideally meet the following criteria:
Qualifications & Experience:
Qualified to degree level including leadership qualifications.
PGCE (or equivalent) - Qualified to Teach in England.
Breadth of experience in school leadership, such as pastoral and academic leadership.
Experience leading and managing people individually and in teams to a high standard.
A wide knowledge of current and proposed education policy and the legal framework for academies, particularly safeguarding.
Evidence of recent, relevant professional development.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The successful candidate will be expected to undergo appropriate checks, including an enhanced DBS check and safeguarding training. Senior members of staff are also required to undertake Safer Recruitment in Education training.
