Are you a versatile tradesperson looking for long-term stability on one of the North's most significant construction projects? We are seeking a key operative / handyman to join a massive military infrastructure project in the Catterick area.
The Role:
This is a pivotal role on a high-security defence site. As a key operative, you will be the "go-to" person for the site management team, handling everything from semi-skilled trade support to high-level finishing and site maintenance.
- Multi-Trade Support: Carrying out basic carpentry, masonry, and painting tasks.
- Site Setup: Assisting with hoarding, temporary partitions, and welfare facilities.
- Snagging & Finishing: Identifying and rectifying minor defects to MoD standards.
- Specialist Assistance: Providing skilled support to M&E teams during various build phases.
- General Maintenance: Ensuring the site remains operational and safe throughout the project.
Mandatory Security Requirement:
Due to the nature of the project being on Ministry of Defence (MoD) land, all successful candidates must undergo a BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) check.
To be eligible, you must:
- Have a valid Passport or full Birth Certificate.
- Provide a continuous 3-year employment/education history.
- Undergo a Basic Disclosure (DBS) check.
- Have the right to work in the UK.
What You'll Need:
- Valid CSCS Card (Blue Skilled Worker card preferred).
- Proven multi-skilled background (knowledge of basic trades is essential).
- Full PPE and your own basic tool kit for snagging and maintenance.
- A professional attitude and the ability to work in a high-security environment.
