We are currently recruiting for a Lead Commissioning Engineer - Mechanical to join a major nuclear commissioning project. This is a senior-level position leading commissioning activities, with responsibility for ensuring safe delivery, managing documentation, coordinating technicians, and maintaining compliance throughout all testing phases.
You'll work in a dynamic and high-hazard environment where safety, leadership, and attention to detail are critical. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced commissioning professionals to contribute to a long-term infrastructure programme that supports national decommissioning goals.
Act as a safety role model, promoting a zero-harm culture across all workstreams
Lead and coordinate a team of commissioning engineers and technicians
Manage all testing activities and ensure adherence to commissioning processes
Oversee the preparation and execution of commissioning test documentation
Liaise with stakeholders, including regulatory compliance representatives
Use completions management systems for work planning, progress tracking, and handovers
Manage commissioning aids, field data, and documentation
Participate in design reviews and drive continuous improvement
Time-served or equivalent background in mechanical engineering
HNC or equivalent qualification preferred (or a path to achieving it)
Demonstrated experience in project commissioning, especially with process systems, vessels, and pumps
Familiarity with completions management systems (e.g., Go Completions)
Strong organisational and scheduling skills
Eligible to obtain BPSS and P4 Security Clearance
Competitive umbrella pay rate of £54.63/hour
