The Role: Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
We require a resilient individual to provide crucial support, working with teachers to adapt the learning environment and curriculum to meet diverse student needs effectively.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted in-class support to students, focusing on those identified with specific Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
- Work with small groups or individuals outside the classroom to reinforce key concepts, practice literacy and numeracy skills, or pre-teach difficult material.
- Assist in modifying and preparing differentiated learning materials (e.g., visual aids, simplified instructions) to ensure full curriculum access.
- Support the implementation of individualized strategies detailed in Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) and Pupil Passports.
- Monitor and record students' social, emotional, and academic progress daily, reporting observations back to the Class Teacher and SENCo.
- Promote students' independence by encouraging them to use self-help strategies and manage their own learning resources effectively.
- Liaise sensitively with parents/carers and external agencies, maintaining confidentiality and contributing to review meetings.
What We're Looking For
We are searching for someone who is calm, resourceful, and possesses a genuine commitment to supporting the well-being and academic development of all pupils.
- Prior experience in a similar support role within an educational setting.
- Excellent proficiency in literacy and numeracy (evidenced by qualifications or professional experience).
- Proven ability to establish clear boundaries and build positive, supportive relationships with young people.
- Familiarity with the common barriers to learning faced by students in secondary education.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively when supporting multiple students or tasks.
- A willingness to be flexible in supporting different curriculum areas and age groups across the school.
- A qualification in SEND support, child development, or a related field is desirable, though not essential.
