About The School :

The Role: Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
We are looking for a patient and proactive individual to provide essential in-class and small-group support to students with various Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support to students with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) or identified SEND, under the direction of the SENCo and Class Teacher.
- Assist students with curriculum access by adapting learning materials, clarifying instructions, and supporting the use of specific resources (e.g., communication aids, technology).
- Foster independent learning and social skills, helping students develop strategies to manage their workload, interact positively with peers, and navigate the school environment.
- Support the management of challenging behaviour effectively and sensitively, implementing agreed-upon behaviour management strategies.
- Contribute to the assessment process by providing accurate observations and feedback on students' progress to the class teacher and SENCo.
- Attend relevant team meetings and training sessions to ensure knowledge of individual student needs and best support practices is current.
- Assist with the general well-being and personal care of students as required, adhering to all school policies and safeguarding procedures.
What We're Looking For
We require an individual who is compassionate, flexible, and dedicated to promoting inclusion and student growth.
- Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with Special Educational Needs (SEND).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong rapport with students, staff, and parents.
- A good level of general education (e.g., GCSE Maths and English, or equivalent).
- Knowledge of various SEND categories (e.g., Autism Spectrum Condition, Dyslexia, SEMH) and effective support strategies.
- A proactive approach, demonstrating the ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Patience, resilience, and a positive outlook when facing daily challenges.
- A willingness to undertake further professional development relevant to supporting learners with complex needs.
