Location: Chelmsford, Essex Pay Rate: £90 - £100 per day (Weekly Pay) Contract: Long-term / Temp-to-Perm (Term Time Only) Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a vibrant and inclusive Primary School in Chelmsford. This is an exciting opportunity for a Level 2 or Level 3 qualified practitioner to use their expert knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to support pupils in Reception and Key Stage 1.
This role is ideal for those who love working with children but are looking for a better work-life balance, with no weekend work and school holidays off.
As an Early Years Specialist LSA, you will work closely with the Class Teacher to create a nurturing learning environment. Your key responsibilities will include:
... - Providing 1:1 support for children with additional needs (SEN) or those who need extra help settling into school life.
- Leading small group activities focused on Phonics, literacy, and creative play.
- Using your knowledge of the EYFS framework to observe and record pupil progress (experience with Tapestry is a bonus).
- Supporting personal care and promoting independence in young learners.
- Helping to set up indoor and outdoor learning environments that stimulate curiosity.
The Ideal Candidate
- Must hold a relevant qualification: Level 2 or Level 3 CACHE / NVQ in Childcare, Early Years, or NNEB.
- Previous experience in a Nursery, Pre-school, or Reception class setting.
- A solid understanding of Phonics (e.g., Read Write Inc, Jolly Phonics) is desirable but not essential.
- Patient, creative, and passionate about child development.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply for one).
