We are currently recruiting enthusiastic individuals to join our team and provide invaluable support to students with diverse learning needs across a range of primary schools in the Leeds area. As a Supply Learning Support Assistant, your responsibilities may include:
- Providing one-on-one and small group support to students with identified learning needs, under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.
- Implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and contributing to their review.
- Assisting students with accessing the curriculum and adapting learning materials as required.
- Supporting the development of students' social, emotional, and communication skills.
- Helping to manage classroom behaviour and create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Assisting with personal care needs, where appropriate and with training.
- Utilising various strategies and resources to support students' learning and engagement.
- Communicating effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals involved in the student's education.
- Adapting to the specific needs of students and the requirements of different school settings.
We are seeking individuals who possess:
- A genuine passion for supporting students with learning differences and a commitment to inclusive education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- Patience, empathy, and a flexible approach to meeting individual student needs.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive attitude and the ability to use initiative.
- A good understanding of different learning needs and strategies to support them.
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN (desirable but not essential).
- Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification or equivalent (desirable but not essential).
- A willingness to undertake an enhanced DBS check.
