The Opportunity
We are currently partnering with a supportive school in Attleborough to find a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA). This role is perfect for someone keen to step into the classroom and provide essential, practical, and pastoral assistance. You'll be working alongside experienced teaching staff to help students fully engage with lessons, manage their learning environment, and achieve their academic and personal milestones. It's a chance to be the reassuring presence that helps a student thrive.
What You Will Be Doing
- Offer tailored support to students, either one-on-one or in small groups, across different subject areas and age ranges.
- Assist the teacher by preparing resources, setting up the learning space, and helping to maintain a focused and productive classroom atmosphere.
- Encourage and model effective learning strategies, helping students to develop independence, organisation, and a positive approach to schoolwork.
- Monitor and document student engagement and well-being, providing valuable feedback to the class teacher and other relevant staff.
- Support students during unstructured times (like breaks and lunch) to promote positive social interactions and play.
What You'll Need to Bring
- Previous experience supporting children or young people in an educational or similar setting is highly valued.
- A naturally calm, adaptable, and empathetic nature.
- The ability to communicate clearly and kindly with students, teachers, and parents.
- Reliability, good time management, and a professional attitude to work.
- A current Enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or the readiness to apply for one).
