The Role in Quidenham
We are excited to be working alongside a fantastic educational setting in Quidenham to recruit a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA). This pivotal role requires someone who can offer comprehensive pastoral and academic guidance to pupils. You will serve as a consistent, reassuring figure, helping students to navigate their school day, stay focused on their learning goals, and develop crucial social and coping skills. Key Contributions You Will Make
- Provide targeted academic assistance to students, clarifying concepts and helping them stay organised with their workload.
- Collaborate closely with teachers to implement effective learning plans and contribute to assessments of student progress and well-being.
- Act as a supportive mentor, promoting positive behaviours, managing classroom dynamics, and fostering a respectful learning atmosphere.
- Facilitate student engagement with lessons and activities, ensuring all pupils feel included and able to participate fully.
- Help develop students' independence and self-management skills, preparing them for future academic steps.
Essential Requirements
- Prior experience working directly with children or young people, particularly in a supporting capacity, is highly desirable.
- An empathetic, approachable, and highly reliable character, with excellent interpersonal skills.
- The capacity to quickly build positive and professional relationships with both students and adult colleagues.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to adapt to varying classroom needs and routines.
- A current Enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or the willingness to undergo the necessary background checks).
