We are excited to announce a search for a talented Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a welcoming partner school in Bury St Edmunds. This highly rewarding position is designed for someone who is passionate about actively helping pupils overcome learning obstacles, fostering their self-esteem, and encouraging positive behaviour. You will be a key player, helping to ensure the classroom is a truly inclusive and successful environment for all students.
What the Role Entails
- Deliver targeted academic support to individuals or small groups across various curriculum areas, helping them grasp challenging concepts.
- Work alongside teachers to adapt lesson plans and resources, ensuring differentiated learning meets the specific needs of pupils.
- Champion positive behaviour and engagement, using strategies to encourage active participation, focus, and mutual respect among students.
- Monitor and record student progress and behaviour, communicating essential observations back to the teaching and leadership teams.
- Provide reliable pastoral care, acting as a calm and supportive figure during the school day, especially during transitions and unstructured times.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Relevant experience supporting children or young people within an educational or care context is essential.
- A flexible, enthusiastic, and highly motivated approach to working within a busy school environment.
- Exceptional ability to connect with students from diverse backgrounds and build professional, trusting relationships.
- Strong communication skills, capable of conveying information clearly to both pupils and adults.
- Possession of an Enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or the willingness to immediately obtain one).
