The Role: Elevating Learning in Girton
We are collaborating with a fantastic, well-regarded school in Girton to find a talented Learning Support Assistant (LSA). This is a critical position for someone who can step into various classrooms and offer comprehensive academic, behavioural, and organisational assistance to pupils. You will be a hands-on resource, reinforcing lessons, modelling positive social skills, and helping students stay focused and motivated throughout the school day. Your commitment will be key to helping every student access their full potential.
Your Contribution to the Team
- Provide direct instructional support to pupils, clarifying teacher instructions and offering one-to-one help to keep them engaged with the material.
- Work in close partnership with the class teacher to implement personalised learning and behaviour management strategies.
- Help prepare and set up educational resources, ensuring materials are accessible and conducive to a productive learning atmosphere.
- Act as a positive role model, consistently encouraging respect, effort, and active participation from all students.
- Monitor and communicate student needs and progress effectively to the teaching staff, contributing to a holistic support plan.
Essential Requirements
- Prior experience working with children or young people in an educational or similar capacity is highly valued.
- A naturally calm, compassionate, and proactive disposition, able to handle the varying demands of a school environment.
- The proven ability to build positive, professional relationships quickly with pupils and colleagues.
- Strong organisational skills combined with clear and effective verbal communication.
- A current Enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or the readiness to immediately apply for one).
