The Opportunity in Mildenhall
We are currently collaborating with a well-regarded school in Mildenhall to find a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA). This is a critical role for an individual who can step into various classrooms and provide essential academic and emotional scaffolding for pupils. You will be instrumental in ensuring students not only keep up with the curriculum but also develop crucial life skills, self-esteem, and a love for learning. Become the confident, consistent support a student needs to reach their full potential.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Offering direct instructional assistance to individuals or small groups, reinforcing key concepts explained by the class teacher.
- Creating and modifying learning resources to ensure they are accessible and engaging for students with diverse needs.
- Working closely with teaching staff to implement individualised education strategies and track pupil progress.
- Providing emotional and pastoral care, acting as a reliable, calm presence to help students regulate their feelings and manage school pressures.
- Facilitating smooth transitions between lessons and activities, maintaining a well-ordered and focused learning environment.
Key Requirements for the Role
- Previous experience in an educational or youth support capacity is highly beneficial.
- Demonstrated compassion, resilience, and a positive outlook when working with children.
- Strong ability to build trusting professional relationships with students and colleagues quickly and effectively.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work independently within a team structure.
- A satisfactory Enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or the commitment to promptly secure one).
