The Role: Developing Success in Milton
We are searching for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a progressive SEN School near Milton. This critical position is designed for an individual who can offer holistic support-blending academic assistance with essential wellbeing guidance. You will work closely with pupils who may be facing barriers to learning, providing the stability and encouragement they need to participate fully in school life, improve their focus, and develop positive social skills. This is a chance to be a key facilitator of a student's success story.
Your Daily Impact Will Include
- Delivering focused one-to-one or small group interventions to help students master core concepts and manage their learning strategies effectively.
- Collaborating seamlessly with teachers to ensure lessons and activities are accessible, engaging, and meet the diverse needs of all pupils.
- Providing essential emotional support, helping students to self-regulate, handle conflict, and build healthy relationships with peers and staff.
- Monitoring and thoughtfully documenting student progress and areas of concern, ensuring clear communication across the support team.
- Actively promoting a positive learning culture, encouraging enthusiasm, attendance, and respect across the school environment.
What You Need to Bring
- Relevant experience in a support role (such as a Teaching Assistant, Mentor, or Youth Worker) within an educational or similar setting is highly desirable.
- A naturally patient, empathetic, and flexible demeanour.
- Proven ability to establish trusting, professional relationships quickly with young people and their families.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- A current Enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or the commitment to successfully complete one).
