Learning Support Assistant, Crawley
Pay: £90-£95 per day
We are currently recruiting a committed and caring Learning Support Assistant to work within primary schools in Crawley. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children's learning and helping pupils overcome barriers to education.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who require additional support to access the curriculum. This may include supporting children with special educational needs, learning difficulties, or social and emotional needs, either on a one-to-one basis or in small groups.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing targeted support to pupils to help them engage with learning
Working one-to-one or with small groups under the guidance of the class teacher
Supporting pupils with SEN, including autism, ADHD, and speech and language needs
Assisting with literacy, numeracy, and phonics activities
Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation
Helping pupils to develop confidence, independence, and social skills
Supporting the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom organisation
Preparing and adapting learning resources when required
Providing pastoral care and emotional support throughout the school day
Supervising pupils during break times, lunchtimes, and school activities
The ideal candidate will:
Have experience working with children in an educational or support setting
Be patient, empathetic, and resilient
Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
Be able to follow guidance from teachers and SENCOs
Be committed to safeguarding and promoting children's wellbeing
This role is suitable for experienced Learning Support Assistants as well as individuals looking to gain further experience in education. Both short-term and long-term opportunities are available, with the potential for ongoing placements.
