An exciting opportunity is available for a proactive and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our partner Special Educational Needs (SEN) School in Romford. We are seeking a talented individual to provide essential support to students with a range of complex needs, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with a range of special educational needs.
- Assist the class teacher in preparing and delivering engaging and differentiated lessons.
- Help create a positive, safe, and nurturing classroom environment.
- Support students' social, emotional, and physical development throughout the school day.
- Adapt learning materials and activities to meet the specific needs of individual students.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive and supportive approach to student development.
- Assist with the overall well-being and supervision of students, including during breaks and transitions.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children or young people is essential, with a strong preference for experience in an SEN setting.
- A caring, patient, and empathetic nature.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to be flexible, proactive, and resourceful.
- A positive attitude and a true commitment to helping students with SEN succeed.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A Child DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
