The Role: Learning Support Assistant
As an LSA, you will play a crucial role in removing barriers to learning and enabling students with diverse needs to access the curriculum and achieve independence. You will work closely with teachers, the SENCO, and outside agencies to provide targeted, high-quality support.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide in-class support to individual students or small groups, helping them to understand tasks, stay focused, and manage their learning environment.
- Assist students with specific learning needs (e.g., literacy, numeracy, social skills) as identified in their Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) or support plans.
- Adapt and prepare resources to make lessons accessible and engaging for students with diverse needs, under the direction of the class teacher.
- Support the management of classroom behavior and promote positive relationships and interactions among students.
- Assist with the supervision of students during unstructured times, such as breaks and lunch periods.
- Provide feedback to teachers and the SENCO on student progress, behavior, and any concerns.
- Help students develop independent learning skills and self-esteem.
- Participate in training and contribute to the overall ethos of the school.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and highly motivated individual to join our team.
- Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an educational setting.
- A strong understanding of different Special Educational Needs (SEN) and effective support strategies.
- Excellent communication and listening skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport quickly with students, staff, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and resilience to support students facing various challenges.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work across different year groups and subjects.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Enthusiasm for learning and a positive, can-do attitude.
