Your Role and ResponsibilitiesThis isn't just a job; it's a chance to be a vital part of a student's educational journey. You will:
- Provide Tailored Support: Work one-to-one and in small groups with students who have a range of special educational needs, helping to deliver personalised learning plans and adapting lessons to their individual needs.
- Encourage Academic Growth: Assist the class teacher in the preparation and delivery of lessons, helping to create an engaging and stimulating learning environment. Your support will be key in helping students grasp new concepts and build confidence.
- Foster a Positive Environment: Help to manage classroom behavior in a constructive and positive way, ensuring all students feel safe, respected, and ready to learn.
- Support Social and Emotional Development: Help students build friendships and develop essential social skills during classroom activities, breaks, and school trips, promoting a sense of belonging and well-being.
- Collaborate and Communicate: Be a key link between the student, the class teacher, and parents, providing valuable feedback on progress, challenges, and successes.
We are seeking a proactive and empathetic individual with a genuine passion for supporting children in their learning. The ideal candidate will have:
- Eligibility to work in the UK and a valid Child DBS on the update service (or the willingness to apply for one).
- Empathy: The ability to connect with students on their level and remain calm and supportive, especially during challenging moments.
- A Positive Attitude: A proactive and resilient mindset, with a knack for finding creative solutions and celebrating every milestone.
- Strong Communication Skills: The ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents, and to work collaboratively as part of a friendly team.
- Relevant Experience: Previous experience working with children in a school, nursery, or voluntary setting is highly desirable. A relevant qualification, such as a Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, is a bonus.
